Music is a big part of the worship life at St. Paul's. Our members love to sing! Typical Sunday services use the organ and hymns of the Lutheran Service Book, but often additional music selected by the Music Director will accompany these classic sounds. Some Sundays and at special services guitar, horns, or even timpani may accompany the organ and piano. Whatever the instrument, voice, or song, the music ministry always seeks to "Sing and Make Music to the Lord". Want to make music with us? Here are some ways:

Adult Choir

The adult choir is a big part of the music ministry. They are a very dedicated group of people who enjoy singing and making music to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They sing almost every Sunday at both services. The choir introduces all types of music to the congregation, from classical to contemporary. They also introduce and teach new hymns to the congregation. Each December, the choir conducts a Christmas Carol service, a service of interaction with the congregation through song to celebrate the coming of Jesus' birth.

Who: any interested adults

When: rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. (September to first week of May)

Chime Choir

The Chime Choir often enhances the worship services with arrangements of favorite hymn tunes and chime compositions.  This hard-working group was formed as the result of a memorial gift to the congregation of 4 octaves of hand chimes.

Who: adults with a basic knowledge of music reading

When: rehearsals are Thursday evening from 6:30-7:30 (September-May)

Instrumentalists and Soloists

Many talented instrumentalists and soloists perform on festival Sundays and for special music events throughout the church year. The youth of St. Paul's are encouraged to play and sing as often as they can.

Children

There are many opportunities for the children of St. Paul's to sing and make music. They sing and play instruments every Sunday during Sunday School. They also use music and song to tell the Christmas story at a special service every December. Occasionally members of the youth groups will perform music during or before Sunday services. Music is also always a big part of Vacation Bible School. The children enjoy singing, and it shows!
